Insight Media Partners to AAL Conference
Insight Publishers and Projects Magazine have been officially confirmed as media partners to the Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) conference. This is the third AAL conference and will take place 26 – 28th September in Lecce, Italy. Insight will have a stand within the exhibition centre and every delegate will receive a free copy of Projects Magazine.
In May, Insight was official media partner to the World of Health IT conference and we are delighted to also be partnering the AAL event. As well as receiving free copies of Projects Magazine, all delegates will have the opportunity to view the latest digital dissemination technology developed by Insight.
The conference aims to provide a unique knowledge-sharing platform to discuss the way forward of innovations for active and independent ageing. The conference includes and exhibition area, key-note speeches and workshops.
The full programme and list of speakers can be found on the AAL website. Both Misha Pavel, Alain Franco and Alex Kalache have been announced as speakers this week. Misha Pavel is the Programme Director at the National Science Foundation (USA) and in charge of the ‘Smart Health and Wellbeing’ programme. He’ll be discussing the “supporting innovations in the United States in the field of AAL’. Alain Franco has been President of the International Society for Gerontechnology since 2008, Secretary General and Vice-President of the International Association for Gerontology and Geriatrics and President of the new French National Agency for health, autonomy and technology in the Community (CNRSDA) based in Nice is scheduled to address the audience of the AAL Forum on Wednesday 28 September on “Functioning - a key for seniors” and Alex Kalache is senior policy adviser and former Director of the World Health Organization, who will present on Wednesday 28 September an international perspective on the “Needs of social innovations and AAL solutions”.

The Ambient Assisted Living Joint Programme (AAL JP) is a joint research and development funding programme implemented by 20 European Member States and 3 Associated States. The programme receives a substantial financial support - based on article 185 of the EC treaty - from the European Commission.
